Workforce Training

DACC Workforce Training offers opportunities for short, non-degree training programs, online and classroom-based professional skill development, lifelong learning, and career exploration and development to the community of Las Cruces and Doña Ana County. Community organizations, governmental offices, and local businesses and industries use the training services to provide customized education opportunities for their employees.

DACC Career Pathway Certification Programs 

The DACC Career Pathways Certification Programs are short educational programs designed to assist individuals build their skills and earn a workforce credential within 16 weeks or less.  

These programs provide   

  • a clear pathway to high-demand jobs

  • completion of technical training programs (IRCs and micro-credentials), 

  • academic support in language development, tutoring, computer literacy, or other basic skills, as needed

  • career navigation and development of valued professional skills, using a learner-centered and trauma-informed approach,  

  • paid work-based learning opportunities, and 

  • access to additional wrap-around services, as needed.  

Career Pathway Certification Programs offer training in the following industry sectors: 

  • Advanced Manufacturing

  • Healthcare 

  • Transportation, Supply Chain, and Warehousing 

  • Information Technology 

  • Business/Entrepreneurism 

Career & Life Skills Academy

The Career & Life Skills Academy is a one-year program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and other neurodiverse conditions at any stage of life.  This program focuses on workforce skills and development for people in transition. CLSA is an inclusive program, using principles of trauma-informed practices and universal design to create a space for all learners to grow and benefit, despite barriers to post-secondary training such as intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), neurodiversity, or brain injury. Please call 575-527-7776 or visit our website for more information.

Personal & Career Discovery Course 

In this short course, participants develop a personalized plan to long-term employment – the Blueprint for Employment. Throughout the participatory activities, assessments, discussions, and reflection, participants will develop a Personal Profile, which gives them insight into their strengths, values, and experiences that shape their skills and qualifications, provides content for resumes, interviews, and elevator pitches. They will also develop an Employment Profile, which narrows down employment options into a relevant set of criteria to clarify job searches and identifying skills and training needed.  

Life Skills Mini-Course Series & Work Readiness Workshops 

Topics in the series and workshops include Leadership, Community Engagement, Financial Literacy, Health Literacy, Self-Advocacy, Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, Problem Solving, Teamwork, and Equity and Inclusion. 

Customized Training Program (CTP)

Our goal is to work with businesses, government, and non-profit agencies in Doña Ana County and southern New Mexico to provide professional and technical training for the workforce. We work with employers to provide custom training programs that consider the unique needs of their workforce and the workforce of Doña Ana County. We identify specific training needs and goals and develop custom training to address those needs.  We follow up with assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of the training.  Custom training can assist local employers in increasing employee satisfaction, reducing turnover, improving efficiency, and reducing costs.  Please call 575-527-7776 to discuss training for your employees or for more information.

Professional and Workforce Development Courses

Employees who continuously strive to enhance their skills and abilities are more likely to earn promotions and better opportunities.  We offers several certificates and courses where professionals can gain new skills or develop the ones they have.  We offers non-degree training programs in the health, business, computer, trades, and manufacturing sectors. These training programs prepare participants for national industry certifications and licenses. Youth Programs

Spring Break and summer programs are available through the Kids College and Career Camps. The programs focus on early career exploration and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) topics.
