Adult Education (AE)
The Adult Education program at NMSU Grants provides instruction to adults (16 and over) in High School Equivalency (HSE) test preparation for the GED or HiSET, as well as pre-high school and basic skills in English, reading, and math. Upon enrollment in the program, learners’ skills are assessed, and a learning plan is developed based on assessment results. Learners develop skills through small-group classroom instruction, computer-based learning, tutoring, and/or self-study. All services are free, including testing. Enrollment requires a valid government-issued ID such as a driver’s license, passport, or tribal ID. Learners under 18 must have parental consent and a letter of withdrawal from their most recent school district. Interested adults are encouraged to call the Adult Education Office at (505) 287-6662.
